Your Opportunity  We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Energy and Resources team. The successful candidate would have opportunities to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world.  This role would provide an opportunity to be a part of a diverse team while focusing on technical growth.  Specifically, we are looking for a candidate that can perform and lead work related to design of Mining and other heavy industrial infrastructure.  This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.  As a registered Professional Engineer, you will be responsible to work on various industrial projects. This role involves structural engineering design and analysis under minimal supervision.  You would be relied on to make sound structural engineering decisions, and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Your Key Responsibilities * You are expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture and in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients. * Perform structural design and analysis to applicable codes.  Typical structures include heavy industrial mining and energy steel structures and concrete foundations.  * Develop designs through sketches, hand calculations, structural analysis software models * Work with Engineers and Designers on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client’s needs and requests. * Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute projects per the project plan. * Provide coaching and mentoring to EITs and designers as part of their professional development, while taking an active role in your own career development. * Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects within Stantec's quality control guidelines. * Prepare and coordinate project specifications including construction documents. * Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or clients. * Travel to local project sites as needed.  At Stantec, we know the work we do matters. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
